Making a Spoon
Making a spoon from clay is an easy project to start with. You will start by rolling a short, thick coil. Remember the rule of thumb! Don’t make your coil so think that the handle is thicker than your thumb.
You will need to think about symmetry and the amount of pressure that you put on the clay to make the bowl of the spoon. Decorate it however you want, maybe make a hole in the handle for a string or piece of leather, and don't forget to put your initials on the back!
How to glaze? I have made a spoon holder for the kiln so that spoons can fire standing up. This allows me to glaze the entire bowl of the spoon.
