Accordion Book

Making an Accordion Book

Supplies needed:

  • Heavy paper, like cardstock. Can be an old folder, or heavy drawing paper. Even printer paper will work, but it will be a little flimsy.

  •  Glue, glue stick, tape. Whatever you have that will join paper.

  • Scissors or craft knife

  • pencils, pens, colored pencils, paints, markers, glitter...for decoration! Your choice!

If you are using a manila folder, cut your paper into a rectangle. I cut it down the middle, and trimmed off the edge. If you have a nice piece of cardstock, you can skip this step.

Cut out a rectangle from card stock or an old manila folder

Fold in half long way, and then cut into 2 pieces.

Fold each strip in half and then in half again. You will have 4 sections.

Refold so that your pieces look like zig zags.

Add glue to one end of one strip, and glue it to the other strip. Let it dry under a stack of books.

Once it’s dry, you can start to draw and write your book.
